Business Ownership or Management
Order versus Chaos
If you are beginning to feel as though the peaceful times are becoming fewer and further between, you are not alone.
It seems that the world of technology in business today has increased our workload rather than lighten it. New apps, new security breaches to worry about, changes to your email programs, your spreadsheets, your communication systems, and, groan... your payday.
Day-to-day living seems to have more rules and regulations, and above all, more costs. We need to read more, think more, understand more, and...of course, do more just to get by - never mind get ahead of the game.
So what do we do to survive?
For many of us, things get left behind. And then they bite us! We confuse accounts, clients' stories, and dates (I've seen and experienced no fewer than 3 mistakes of calendar dates this week!), and as these happen, we begin to feel ourselves falling down the rabbit hole.
For the rest of us, we continue to try to master our lives, our business, and our surroundings, and begin to wonder why we fall asleep sitting up, and can't make sense of what we know is the simplest of instructions.
Why do these afflictions continue? Because we try to bite off more than we can chew at any one time. We continue to try to juggle many balls (I hear your cry out - but I must!!) at the same time.
I'm here to tell you that all the latest research in neurology, healthcare and wellness, business, and management show unequivocally that we are taxing our brains beyond capacity.
Our brains function best with focus on one thing at a time, for a pre-determined period of time.
Know what guides your decisions. Clarify what drives what you do every day.
Move mountains.
A little reflection is always good.
